Bump, Bump, Bottom
Otto can do the stairs by himself.
“Pancakes!” called Uncle Dev, from the bottom of the stairs. Otto was at the top, with Dumpling the cat. “Me do it.”
Otto sat on the top step. Bump! “Four to go,” said Uncle Dev. “Shall I carry you?” “No. Me do it.”
Bump! Otto stopped to say hello to his toes. “Three to go,” said Uncle Dev. “Shall Dumpling carry you?” Dumpling looked at Otto. “No. Me do it.”
Bump! Otto lay down for a rest. “Two to go,” said Uncle Dev. “Shall I bring you a pillow?” “No. Me do it.”
Uncle Dev picked up a fork. “Shall I eat your pancake?” “NO! ME DO IT!” Bump! BUMP!
“Bottom!” said Otto. Otto got his pancake. Dumpling got a crumb. Then Otto looked at the stairs, and at Uncle Dev.
“Uncle do it,” said Otto. So Uncle Dev went all the way up to the top. And he sat down.
Bump! “Four to go,” said Otto. “Otto carry you?” “No,” said Uncle Dev. “Me do it.”
Bump! Bump! Bump! BUMP! “Bottom,” said Uncle Dev. “Again,” said Otto.
